Welcome to the rights page of the Rick Meyerowitz Illustration web site.
All images and text contained in the RMI website are site are proprietary, which means owned exclusively by Rick Meyerowitz, which also means they are the intellectual property of Rick Meyerowitz.
All content of the RMI site is fully registered with the US Copyright Office pursuant to Title 17 United States Code, and is fully protected by the 1976 Copyright Act.
Any and all derivative, infringements, or rip-offs of the content or images displayed on the site are subject to possible legal action.
This means that except where permission is given, no material from the RMI site may be copied, transferred, uploaded, reproduced, republished, posted, transmitted, printed, pasted on the wall of your child’s room, your dorm room, or your office, or used for any purpose, or distributed in any way, and we’re not kidding.
If you wish to work with Rick Meyerowitz, you may download one copy of any image for layout or “comping” purposes on any single computer, provided that:
1) you ask for and receive permission to do so from Rick;
2) you keep intact all artists signatures, copyright and other proprietary notices; and
3) you do not in any way alter or modify the content of the images.
In plain language, this means you cannot mess with the art. Rick is available to do all the altering and modifying and messing you’d ever want. He’ll charge for it of course, but it’ll be a pittance, and it will look a lot better than what you were going to do.
Finally, the use of any content contained in the RMI website on any other website or computer environment is strictly prohibited under the copyright code.
All this is to say Rick plays fair. You should too.
